Our story
Named in honour of her mother
For Sahar Ismail, cooking began in her childhood home in Sudan, standing beside her mother, Layali, watching, learning and discovering the joy of bringing people together through food.
After living in Amsterdam and moving to the UK in 2010, Sahar turned that childhood passion into her profession, building her experience through catering, training and a deep curiosity for flavours and food traditions from around the world.
Named in honour of her mother, Layali’s Cuisine is a reflection of Sahar’s journey — bringing together the warmth of Sudanese heritage with Mediterranean and global influences, lovingly prepared with her own personal touch.
Food inspired by where she comes from, shaped by where she has been, and created to bring people together.
